Shiok Closing - FAQ

Is Shiok really closing down for good?
Yes. Both Shiok and Moss Lounge will cease operation on Wednesday, 31 March, 2010. No, we're not moving elsewhere.

Why are you doing this?
I (that would be me, Madhu Menon - chef/owner) am moving on. For both personal and business reasons, I didn't see it as a good idea to keep the restaurant going. That's about as much as I can say about it.

Are you joining another restaurant? Where can I get my drunken beef after you close?
At the moment, I have no concrete plans but I will be working on some ideas in the coming months. If you want some drunken beef, I suggest you visit Shiok in the next couple of weeks. :)

Is there a special "going away" deal you're going to offer to loyal customers?
Yes. Until 31 March (barring 27 and 28 March when BBMP elections are on), we have a fabulous deal on spirits. We will have Happy Hours throughout the day for lunch and dinner. You buy one drink, you get another one on the house. No, it doesn't end at 8:30 PM. (Offer is valid on all domestic spirits but not on special packages.)

I'd like to thank the Academy, my parents, my first dog, er...

On a serious note, it's been a great ride for 6 years and I appreciate all the support from loyal customers like you who've loved our food and told others about it. I wish this weren't happening, but it was necessary. I sincerely hope some of you will drop by in the next couple of weeks to try our food and cocktails for one last time and perhaps say hello to me. :)
